BIOL 20003 - General Microbiology UAFS Legacy Course Number: BIOL 2503 Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 3 Lecture Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
A general overview of the topic of microbiology including culturing and enumeration techniques, metabolism, microbial genetics, taxonomy, sterilization and disinfection, disease processes and immunology. The course will conclude with a survey of infectious diseases, immunological disorders, immunizations, and chemotherapy. (ACTS: BIOL 2004; must complete BIOL 2503 /BIOL 20001 )
Prerequisite: BIOL 10043 - Biological Science /BIOL 10031 - Biological Science Laboratory or BIOL 20083 - Introduction To Cell Biology or CHEM 10003 - Chemical Principles /CHEM 10001 - Chemical Principles Laboratory or CHEM 14103 - College Chemistry I /CHEM 14101 - College Chemistry I Laboratory
