SURG 15310 - Surgical Technology Practicum I

Students are introduced to the physical environment of the operating suite with selected clinical experiences in the community hospitals. Students have many experiences in the care and use of instruments and surgical supplies, as well as multiple opportunities to scrub for surgical procedures.

Prerequisite: American Heart Association’s CPR for Healthcare Providers, HEAL 14703 - Medical Terminology , BIOL 10043 - Biological Science /BIOL 10031 - Biological Science Laboratory , BIOL 24003 - Human Anatomy /BIOL 24001 - Human Anatomy Laboratory , BIOL 20003 - General Microbiology /BIOL 20001 - General Microbiology Laboratory , MATH 11003 - College Algebra  or higher MATH, ENGL 10203 - Composition II  or ENGL 14343 - Honors Composition , PSYC 11003 - General Psychology , and CPSI 10531 Computer - Word Processing  
Corequisite: SURG 15206 - Surgical Technology Procedures I
